This residence was envisioned as a Transitional Villa—rooted in traditional form, yet expressed with a distinctly modern edge. Anchored by a central two-story mass, the home’s architecture maintains classical balance while embracing a more contemporary material palette. The exterior pairs hand-cut limestone with smooth stucco, creating a clean, tailored aesthetic. Deep charcoal windows and doors offer contrast against the monochromatic façade, while a slate roof and zinc-coated copper detailing bring harmony to the composition, uniting tones and textures with quiet sophistication.

A sculptural focal point at the heart of the home, this staircase offers a graceful first impression. The soft curve, white paneling, and understated black railing create a moment of movement and elegance—reflecting the home’s balance of formality and warmth.

Throughout the main corridor, pendant lights are rhythmically spaced along a softly stepped ceiling. Paired with textured walls and clean base molding, this hallway creates an experience of transition that’s as quiet as it is refined.

The Plan
Reynolds Architecture established a formal composition anchored by a central two-story mass, allowing the structure to feel grounded and intentional. We softened the traditional geometry with contemporary detailing: cut limestone and smooth stucco were paired to achieve a crisp, harmonious exterior. The use of deep charcoal windows and doors brought contrast and sophistication to the otherwise monochromatic palette. Interior planning focused on axial sightlines, balance, and quiet transitions between spaces.
The completed home is both grounded and graceful—an expression of classical form reimagined with modern clarity. The Transitional Villa offers its owners a place of quiet luxury and lasting architectural value. Its proportions are timeless, its details thoughtful, and its atmosphere intentionally designed to evolve beautifully with time.
